Maintaining your membership or scholarship
As long as Honors Program students continue to meet program requirements, they will remain eligible for membership in the program. The same standard holds for Honors scholarship recipients. Program membership and scholarship continuance do not come without expectations. The following covers the basics of program expectations – whether it is renewing the Columbus State University Honors Scholarship or maintaining membership in our program, Honors Program members must:
- Take at least 12 academic hours per semester (fall and spring semesters)
- Maintain a minimum overall academic average of at least 3.4. (The Honors Program student handbook details specific academic program requirements)
- Participate in the CSU Honors Program in its academic and community service activities (Although Honors Program members are expected to volunteer a minimum of 15 hours yearly for all four years, most of our students exceed the minimum as they discover a passion for using their talents to meet the needs of those around them)
- Maintain current membership and participate in Honoris Causa
- Attend or participate in certain academic or cultural activities (e.g., represent the Honors Program at CSU Foundation Board of Trustees luncheons, participate
in CSU Day events, serve as an official representative of CSU at designated campus events, and attend Honors-sponsored campus and community events).
